Venezuela Earthquake Response

Survivors of the Venezuela Earthquakes

On Wednesday, June 24, two earthquakes struck Venezuela less than a minute apart, impacting millions across the country. Water Mission is responding by sending our Disaster Assistance Response Team to Venezuela to evaluate the water, sanitation, and hygiene needs of people affected by the disaster.

Will you help meet urgent needs in Venezuela? Your gift will help men, women, and children desperately in need of safe water today.

With 25 years of experience responding to natural disasters, Water Mission has an extensive background in providing immediate and long-term safe water solutions. In each response, our team is there to reassure those dealing with overwhelming loss that God is with them.

Current Status

Assessing Local Water Sources

The magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes claimed more than 1,700 lives, injured thousands, and displaced families, with an estimated 50,000 people remaining unaccounted for.

Access to safe water is especially critical to sustain survivors and help prevent the spread of waterborne illnesses. Water Mission is currently coordinating with local partners, as well as determining what water is available and the extent of damage to existing water infrastructure.
