Venezuela Earthquake Response
On June 24, 2026, two back-to-back earthquakes struck Venezuela, impacting millions across the country. A magnitude 7.2 earthquake was followed less than a minute later by a magnitude 7.5 earthquake—the strongest to hit Venezuela since 1900.
The earthquakes damaged water systems and displaced families, making access to safe water especially critical to sustain survivors and help prevent the spread of waterborne illnesses.
Water Mission is responding by sending our Disaster Assistance Response Team to evaluate the safe water, sanitation, and hygiene needs of people impacted by the disaster.
