Water Mission’s Honduras Country Program Opens New Headquarters in Tegucigalpa

Tegucigalpa, Honduras — August 20, 2025 –  Water Mission, a nonprofit Christian engineering organization, is pleased to announce the opening of a new corporate office for its Honduras country program in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. This strategic expansion reflects the nonprofit’s continued growth and commitment to delivering safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) solutions in Honduras. The new office will serve as the headquarters for Water Mission’s work in Honduras and expand the organization’s presence in the country, joining three other established Water Mission offices in Tocoa, El Progreso, and San Juan, where the team has been actively serving some of the country’s most vulnerable communities since 2007.  

The new office officially opens on August 20, 2025. It strengthens Water Mission’s ability to reach more communities with safe water access while building strong relationships with local communities and partners across the country. In Honduras, approximately 35% of the population does not have access to clean, safe drinking water. Additionally, nearly half of the country’s population lacks access to safe sanitation solutions.  

“We expect to expand Water Mission’s presence in Honduras by collaborating with key actors from the government, private sector, and general public, who we invite to come alongside us to join us in fighting the global water crisis,” said Honduras Country Director Rocio Cruz Ogando. “We are looking for sustainable growth as we scale to meet the increasing demand and pursue new opportunities to provide more safe water and sanitation solutions in Honduras.” 

Water Mission has brought sustainable, safe water access to nearly 900,000 people in Honduras and has served almost 140,000 people across the country with sanitation and hygiene solutions.
