Water Mission Named a 2019 Best Christian Workplace
Honor Recognizes Engineering Ministry for Creating a Healthy Organizational Culture
N. Charleston, S.C. – Oct. 15, 2019 – Water Mission, a nonprofit Christian engineering organization, was named a 2019 Certified Best Christian Workplace by Best Christian Workplace Institute (BCWI), an employee engagement ministry dedicated to helping Christian leaders and organizations achieve their full potential in the workplace. Water Mission was one of 89 organizations to earn a spot on this year’s list with 100 percent survey participation. “Being recognized as a Best Christian Workplace is an honor,” said Water Mission President and COO, George C. Greene, IV. “Fostering an atmosphere of love, excellence, and integrity is something we value greatly. Our hope is that each staff member grows personally and professionally while glorifying God through their work. It’s important our team continues to feel encouraged and supported while working to provide safe water to communities around the world.” Throughout the year, Water Mission provides biblically-based leadership training for all staff that supports both their professional development and spiritual growth. “Working with a staff of more than 350 here in Charleston and in nine countries, we are constantly looking for ways to empower and equip our employees to be impactful leaders,” Greene said. “Through our partnership with Lifeshape, we are able to continue fostering a Christ-centered workplace.” Since 2002, more than 300,000 employees from 1,000 organizations, churches, and Christian-led businesses have completed BCWI’s Employee Engagement Survey. This online tool is used to determine which organizations are selected for Best Christian Workplace each year, and provides an objective, quantifiable measure based on eight factors: fantastic teams, life-giving work, outstanding talent, uplifting growth, rewarding compensation, inspirational leadership, sustainable strategy, and healthy communication.
