Water Mission Earns Charity Navigator’s 4-star Rating for 13th Consecutive Year

Water Mission Also Awarded ‘Perfect Score’ in Financial Health & Accountability

N. Charleston, S.C. – November 6, 2019Water Mission, a nonprofit Christian engineering organization, was awarded Charity Navigator’s 4-star rating for the 13th year in a row, as well as a perfect score in Financial Health and Accountability & Transparency categories. As a major charity assessment organization in the United States, Charity Navigator evaluates nonprofit organizations on their fiscal responsibility and governance. “Being recognized by Charity Navigator for these awards is an incredible honor,” said Water Mission President and COO, George C. Greene, IV, PE. “It sheds light on our team’s commitment to excellence and integrity – values that are foundational to the organization’s success as a whole. Our team is proud to be a good steward of resources so that every gift goes toward making a maximized impact on programs all over the world.” According to Charity Navigator, the charities honored on the “Perfect Score” list conduct their work in a fiscally responsible way. They also adhere to good governance and other best practices, minimizing the chance of unethical activities. To earn a perfect 100-point overall score, an organization must earn a perfect score in both the Financial Health and Accountability & Transparency categories. Less than one percent of the thousands of charities rated by Charity Navigator have earned perfect scores. “We are grateful to be one of the few organizations honored in this category,” Greene said. “As we implement best-in-class technology to provide clean, safe water in developing countries and disaster areas around the world, an integral part of our approach is ensuring our supporters are fully aware of how their generous gifts are being used.” To learn more about how Charity Navigator evaluates charitable organizations, visit its website.
