WMI Explained: In-country Programs
Water Missions International Founders George and Molly Greene with the staff of our Uganda country program.
Currently WMI has in-country programs in Mexico, Belize, Honduras, Peru, Haiti, Uganda, Malawi, Kenya, and Indonesia. These offices serve as home base for all of our projects within their respective countries with an incredible staff and stock of equipment, technology, and materials necessary to provide safe water to communities in need.
Although much of our work happens in these countries, sometimes staff will travel to neighboring nations to work on additional projects. Our staff in Honduras recently traveled to El Salvador to work on a safe water project, and our Indonesia staff has frequently traveled to Cambodia over the last year to carryout ongoing initiatives.
Thanks to our in-country programs, WMI can respond quickly to natural disasters, mobilizing staff and safe water treatment equipment from the nearest in-country program. Most recently we responded to disastrous flooding in Mexico, sending staff and equipment directly from the WMI Mexico field office.

Our in-country programs help carry out our work in tremendous ways when it comes to project efficiency. However, in-country programs are also a perfect illustration of how Water Missions International sees a successful solution to the global water crisis: community members equipped and empowered to help their people by proving a safer, healthier environment for their families. WMI in-country staffs feel compelled to serve their countrymen with their skills to provide sustainable access to safe water.
We’re excited to announce that we’re getting ready to launch a new in-country program to further extend the reach of our work. Stay tuned next Tuesday as we announce the location of WMI’s 10th in-country program. We hope you’re as excited as we are to continue to see transformational life change through the provision of safe water!
