Walk for Water Heroes

On Saturday, March 25, nearly 4,800 of us walked for water in solidarity with those around the world who walk daily to fetch dirty, contaminated water. Starting in Brittlebank Park, we carried our buckets through Hampton Park and the Citadel campus. Together, we raised over $300,000 so that people in need would know and enjoy the benefits of safe water and sanitation. For us, it was a rewarding, eye-opening event where we were able to put our feet to action and make a tangible difference together. For those we will serve with safe water, it is the beginning of a new future. Water Mission volunteers work the registration table at the Walk for Water.

At Water Mission, we believe that safe water is a building block for new opportunities and better health, for restored relationships and resurrected dreams. Their hope for a better tomorrow is strengthened because you decided to do something. Together, we did go farther on Saturday to help thousands of people whose lives will be irrevocably changed for the better. Thank you for caring about men, women, and children who desire the same things that we often take for granted – health, education, and an opportunity to improve their lives. Thousands of miles away, they face the devastating reality of dirty water and continue to walk daily. To them and us, you are the Walk for Water heroes.
