See Change With SOLVE Sunglasses
SOLVE Sunglasses Founders Jeb Geesey and Justin Kroboth
Justin and Jeb decided to raise funds to combat the global water crisis by selling sunglasses. The reason? “Where we are from, putting sunglasses on is almost like putting a tee shirt on before you leave the house. I’m from South Florida and Justin is from Southern California. So the idea of selling something that people want, to help give something that people need, felt like a great idea,” Jeb remembers.
Jeb and Justin chose to partner with a nonprofit organization to enact the change they wanted to make. “We were doing research and looking around at different organizations that are helping solve the world water crisis. There are a lot of great people and great groups out there making a difference. One that hit home was Water Missions International.”
“I was first exposed to them at Seacoast Church. At that time, WMI was located right behind the Seacoast campus I went to. Back in 2010 when the earthquake hit Haiti, they led a big response sending 10 water systems that were capable of producing 10,000 gallons of clean water a day. In addition to installing sustainable water systems, they come in at times of disaster and provide quick relief. Justin and I were amazed when we toured their warehouse. Their facility is incredible. Their staff is very passionate and it shows in their work. It seemed an obvious choice.”
SOLVE Sunglasses offers a good looking way to give back.
This year SOLVE Sunglasses hopes to raise money to help fund a Water Missions International safe water project. Part of the profits of every pair of sunglasses sold will go towards their goal to provide safe water for a community in need.
“Our ultimate goal is to change as many lives as possible. We want to offer great quality, good looking shades with a cause people can really get behind to keep our giving model alive. With all these great organizations and philanthropic companies out there, it isn’t crazy to think we can all solve the water crisis one day. For now, we go one day at a time. Every pair is another life changed and that’s exciting for us,” Jeb says.
SOLVE Sunglasses' signature frame is named WAI, the Hawaiian word for fresh water.
Beyond the business they’ve created, the SOLVE guys are taking it up a notch as a couple big days approach. Both Jeb and Justin will celebrate their birthdays this month. They’re asking their friends and family to donate to a safe water project instead of giving gifts, so that they can push closer to this year’s goal. Want to take part in their birthday?
