Disaster Response

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

June 19, 2013
This summer, our staff around the world is hard at work on new projects to bring sustainable safe water and sanitation solutions to communities in need. We invite you to take a look at some of the projects that have recently unfolded in our country programs. From WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) promotion to project installation and even disaster response, WMI has been busy working to change the world with one glass of safe water at a time. Here’s a glimpse at what’s been happening in the field! Assessment In Uganda A team from Water Missions International Uganda works with a community to find local water sources that can be used for their safe water system. Primary School Gets Safe Water Our staff in Kenya recently completed a project at a primary school which will give students and the surrounding community access to safe water.   TradeWater Outpost In Kamphulu Our team in Malawi recently finished a new TradeWater™ project in the community of Kamphulu that will provide more water to more than 2,000 people from this village and others nearby.   Bo. La Ceiba Our team in Honduras continued to work with the community of Bo. La Ceiba since their treatment system was installed in January, and recently visited them to ensure that it is functioning perfectly.   Flooding In Chiapas Our team in Mexico recently responded to disastrous floods cause by a hurricane that struck southern Mexico. Thanks to your help, every project that WMI is working on around the world will transform communities through the provision of safe water. Each step of progress shown above is a part of the process – and a reason to celebrate!
