Over 3,000 Hours Served!

Water Mission relies on volunteers at our North Charleston headquarters to help us get safe water to people around the world. There are two very special volunteers that we would like to recognize: Mac Boatright (left) and Gene Lesesne (right). Mac Boatright began volunteering with Water Mission in 2008. He is the absolute expert on pressure testing, quality assurance, and packaging of the Living Water™ Treatment System. Mac, who is 83 years old, has selflessly given more than 3,000 hours of his time to volunteer every Monday and Wednesday. He is truly a hero to the Water Mission volunteers and staff and we celebrate him and his quiet, servant leadership. Gene Lesesne was our very first Water Mission volunteer. He joined our team when Water Mission was founded back in 2001 and was the first person, along with George and Molly, to start assembling systems. He still tirelessly volunteers with us every single week and knows everything about our Living Water™ Treatment Systems and the Healthy Latrine molds. He is always ready to serve anyone in need and has traveled internationally to assist in Water Missions' disaster relief efforts in countries like Haiti after the devastating earthquake and in Indonesia after the tsunami.
