Kingdom Impact in Kenya

July 14, 2016
Pastor Adams Over the past year, our Water Mission Kenya staff, in partnership with In Touch Ministries, has been organizing and leading Life Principles conferences throughout the country of Kenya. These conferences train pastors in the Scriptures as well as providing new technology, such as The Messenger, that assist in the distribution of the gospel. This spring, Water Mission Kenya’s staff pastor, Harron Sabila Adams, conducted a Life Principles conference in the city of Kitale. Below, he recounts the kingdom impact these three days had on the 90 pastors in attendance.
I sincerely thank you for your earnest prayers over the Life Principles conference in Kitale organized by Water Mission Kenya. In my experience with these conferences, I have learned that the reason for obstacles often becomes apparent on the back side of those obstacles. I have seen how God uses obstacles to prove to us His favors and grace. The enemy was defeated when he tried to delay the shipments of materials needed for the conference. God did great things despite the delays. In each meeting, we saw the hand of God at work among the pastors. In spite of all the challenges, the Lord did that which was seemingly impossible in our eyes. Pastors Conferences in Kenya | Water Mission and In Touch Ministries The conference contained pastors from our different project locations and the city pastors in Kitale, Kenya. The word of God came forth with so much power, changing and transforming lives. It was like I could hear Peter saying, “You men of Judea (Kitale) and all you who live in Jerusalem (in the city) know this and listen carefully to what I say. In spite of what you think, these men are not drunk, for it is only nine o’clock in the morning. But this is what was spoken about through the prophet Joel: ‘And in the last days it will be,’ God says, ‘that I will pour out my Spirit on all people, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams... I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy” [Acts 2:14-18]. This is exactly what happened in Kitale. We are so excited to watch God birth new things, and we are fully committed to partnering with these churches to re-establish biblical foundations among them. Pastors Listen at Conference with Water Mission Kenya and In Touch Ministries The conference was a source of encouragement for many, equipping them to do the work of the ministry and empowering them with free resources. Pastor Edward Langat, chaplain in Kenya's Kapenguria Prison, shared, "I personally came to this conference very low. My life and my ministry have been taking a downward trend, and I have been searching [for] God’s direction and His leading. But I now thank God that after attending this conference, I have new life, new beginning, and a new peace in life. I now know that God uses adversity, and we learn more when we are in our valleys than in our mountains. I am ready to confront all the obstacles now and come out victorious. Thank you, Water Mission and In Touch Ministries." Kingdom Impact: Pastors at Conference in Kenya with Water Mission and In Touch Ministries Our hearts are rejoicing as we see what the Lord has done in the lives of leaders like Edward Langat. All of the pastors who attended the conference serve in remote communities which are poverty stricken. Through your faithful stewardship and bountiful gifts to Water Mission, you have stirred up the hearts of these 90 pastors from Mt. Elgon, Kitale, and West Pokot, Kenya. We cannot put into words the spiritual blessings that these pastors have received through the teachings and free resources.
“I want to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to Water Mission, for… bringing us such a true gospel in Kitale! I also want to give my personal gratitude for all who… pray and support this ministry. Brothers and sisters, you are making a huge difference in Kenya!” Rev. Abraham, Senior Prison Chaplain Rift Valley Region
