Disaster Response: St. Lucia
The people of Saint Lucia are in dire need of safe water after flooding and heavy rains.
Much of the island lacks water, and flooding can contaminate water sources with life-threatening waterborne illnesses. Disaster areas can quickly become hotbeds for diseases like cholera. Outbreaks make it even harder to rebuild communities and livelihoods.
Water Missions International has partnered with Operation Blessing to help those affected by the storm. A staff member from Water Missions International is currently on the ground in Saint Lucia utilizing disaster response treatment systems that had been on the island since disaster response efforts to Hurricane Tomas in 2010. As the people of Saint Lucia begin to clear away the debris and rebuild their lives, Water Missions International and Operation Blessing are on hand to help.
Water Missions International and Operation Blessing are working together to provide safe water for those in need.
