Charleston Responds
People are waiting for relief. Will you respond? #CHSresponds
This unique perspective gives Charleston a wonderful opportunity to respond to those in need in the Philippines. We know how one storm can destroy our homes and our community, but we also know the we can rise up better and stronger than before.
Mayor Joe Riley, the Holy City’s hospitality industry, and some of Charleston’s own media, who give our city her voice, are leading Charleston Responds, calling all our Charleston neighbors to join Water Missions International in an effort to provide relief for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
Water Missions is currently working on the ground in the Philippines, having already mobilized relief effort to supply safe drinking water for hundreds of thousands of people. While we have the capacity to help even more, our efforts are limited by two obstacles: logistics and support. The Holy City can spread hope by supporting our organization, and in doing so save lives and give the promise of a better tomorrow.
Join us, and then help us spread the word across social media. Please share Mayor Riley’s call to action on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and beyond. Help us tell the story with the hashtag #CHSresponds.
