2015: An Exciting White Knuckle Ride
Partners are hosting Walks for Water in places such as Colorado, New York and California, with the largest walk being held in Charleston on March 12th. Participating in the Charleston walk are strategic partners who will spend two days at Water Mission headquarters learning about how their products and services are being used in projects around the world. Partners will be updated on the growth Water Mission experienced in 2015, a year that was described by Founder and CEO, Dr. George Greene III, PE PhD, as a ‘white knuckle ride’.
Water Mission staff often use the expression 'white knuckle ride' to describe the early years of riding in the back of pickup trucks in developing countries - the rougher the road, the whiter the knuckles. Last year was an exciting white knuckle ride at Water Mission and the highlights of the year are captured in the recently released 2015 Annual Report.

Highlights outlined in the Annual Report include growth in the U.S. staff of more than 17 percent, and country program staff growth of over 40 percent. Stories demonstrate how cutting edge technology was implemented in the areas of water treatment, energy and remote monitoring and one of the largest installations to date was completed in response to the need for safe water in the Nyarugusu Refugee Camp in Tanzania (below).
“I believe 2016 is going to be even more exciting, as we respond to the opportunities the Lord is giving us to transform people's lives. It is with great joy that I thank you personally, and I pray that you will continue to join us in our commitment to save lives,” Founder and CEO, Dr. George Greene III, PE PhD.
