Paul Murphy
Country Director, Uganda
Paul Murphy was born and raised in the Boston area. He was first introduced to the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 20 through a campus ministry in Arizona. Since then he has had a desire to be involved in disciple-making and humanitarian service, especially after learning of the overwhelming needs of unreached people around the world.
After moving away, he returned to Boston where he met and married his wife, Almaz, who came to America as a refugee from war-torn Eritrea and Ethiopia. They eventually moved to Charlotte, NC, and raised three kids: Aster (Esther), Faban (Phoebe), and John.
In 2003, he left his career in telecommunications and joined a relief organization serving in a cross-border operation to Sudan based in Eritrea. Mr. Murphy has been involved in relief and development projects ever since then. He is thrilled to be part of such an outstanding organization as Water Mission and serve with the amazing Uganda Team.
