Karen Hoida

Karen Hoida joined the Water Mission Board of Directors in 2025, bringing valuable experience as an experienced attorney and nonprofit executive to Water Mission’s Leadership.  

Ms. Hoida is General Counsel and Senior Vice President of the General Counsel and Strategy Office at Compassion International. After practicing law for more than 18 years, Ms. Hoida joined Compassion International as Director of Risk Management in 2012. She was later promoted to Senior Director of Incident Response, where she focused on building global security, environmental health and safety, business continuity, crisis management, investigations, and a response and assistance center. She was then promoted to Vice President of Enterprise Execution, overseeing Compassion’s strategy and portfolio management.

Ms. Hoida holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of California, Davis, a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, and a master’s degree in theology from Iliff School of Theology. She attends Fellowship of Christ Global Methodist Church in Monument, Colorado.
