Charles Young has been involved with Water Mission since 2014, initially as a volunteer in the ministry’s production facility. Admiral Young joined Water Mission’s Board of Directors in 2017 and provides valuable strategic insights for Water Mission’s growth and direction.
Admiral Young graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. After receiving a Master of Science in civil engineering at the University of Delaware, he completed the Navy’s nuclear power training program. He served in the U.S. Navy for 36 years as a submariner and an acquisitional professional.
Following his Navy retirement in 2006, Admiral Young worked for Oceaneering Technologies’ Advanced Technologies Division as the vice president for strategic business planning. In addition to serving on the Water Mission Board of Directors, Admiral Young is Chairman of the Advanced Technologies International Board and also serves on the Boards of Global Water Center and the Dolphin Scholarship Foundation.
Admiral Young is an active member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
