
Will Furlong, PE
Regional Director, Africa
Will Furlong serves as Water Mission’s Senior Director, Africa Region. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring that our country programs in Africa are resourced, equipped, and served to consistently achieve Water Mission’s vision, mission, values, and standards. Will has worked with Water Mission since 2010, establishing our country program in Tanzania and living and working in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania for much of this time. He led an international team in a refugee emergency response in Western Tanzania in 2015, which was followed by implementing new water supply and treatment systems for 250,000 refugees in Nyarugusu and Nduta camps.
Prior to his employment at Water Mission, Will served as Vice President and Engineering Division Manager at Jones, Edmunds & Associates, an engineering consulting firm. He later served as an ordained Elder (Senior Pastor) in the United Methodist Church. Will holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Florida and a Master of Divinity degree from Duke University. He is also registered as a professional engineer in Florida. Will serves at Water Mission through an extension appointment beyond the local church from the United Methodist Church. He and his wife, Betina, currently live in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
