It has been nearly a year since Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas. In September 2019, the category 5 storm made landfall in the islands, leveling homes, airports, hospitals, and schools. Through your prayerful support and generosity, Water Mission provided immediate relief as one of the first responders to touch the ground.
By God’s grace, Water Mission staff remains in the Bahamas nearly 12 months after the hurricane. We continue to assist in long-term rebuilding.
Surrounded by uncertainties, people in post-disaster settings—especially children—need clean, safe water as they recover from past emergencies, prepare for future ones, and regain a sense of normalcy amid overwhelming and overlapping change.
Our response assists communities immediately after an emergency and throughout reconstruction, equipping them with sustainable and strong infrastructures that can withstand future disasters.
Through your continued prayers and gifts, you can join us in providing safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) solutions that serve vulnerable communities before, during, and after crises.
