Join Water Mission as we provide urgently needed solutions to under-resourced communities in developing nations.
Water Mission is working alongside local leaders, healthcare workers, and community members to build and protect the health and safety of millions of people through:
Safety and security measures.
We have updated systems and procedures to include protective measures, minimizing risk for the people we serve and our staff as they continue to remain on the front line supporting safe water-related needs.
Ensuring the continuation of existing and in-progress water and sanitation projects.
We are continuing our ongoing water and sanitation projects while implementing new procedures at water access points to maintain proper social distancing measures and expediting the flow of safe water.
Stocking & distributing critical supplies and consumables.
To ensure that safe water is continuously flowing, we are stocking and distributing critical supplies and consumables, such as chlorine.
Promoting COVID-19 hygiene-related training and risk mitigation awareness programs.
We are developing and distributing health information in local languages to raise awareness about coronavirus-specific hygiene practices and the need for social distancing. We are utilizing a variety of media and technological tools, such as social media, radio, mobile messaging, and community speaker systems.
Responding to COVID-19-specific emergency response water and sanitation requests.
Strategically placed resources around the world give us the ability to serve as many people as possible, as quickly as possible.
Ensuring continuous safe water availability at health facilities.
We continue to serve existing sites while establishing additional water and sanitation services at under-resourced healthcare facilities on the frontlines of the crisis. With safe water and hygiene resources, nurses, doctors, public health professionals, and their patients can have the water they need for drinking, handwashing, cleaning, and disinfecting.
Strengthening and supporting the existing Water Mission presence in vulnerable communities.
We are continuing to monitor and track the progress of our systems remotely, ensuring the uninterrupted supply of much-needed safe water. Monitoring the quality and quantity of safe water production without physically visiting each project site is critical to ensuring the sustainability and reliability of safe water services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Together, we can help bring an end to the spread of the virus—ensuring the safety and health of millions of people around the world. Your gifts will support people in places where coronavirus cases have been reported, and where supplies and hygiene promotion are most needed.
On April 16, we shared a Facebook Live update on our COVID-19 global response efforts. If you weren’t able to watch, a recording of the update is provided above.
During this update, you will learn how your support is helping:
– Resource medical staff with the safe water needed to restore patients health,
– Assist communities in coronavirus-specific hygiene education, and
– Halt the spread of the virus.
