Honor Strong Mothers

“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” —Proverbs 31:25

In the town of El Encanto, Mexico, Hortencia used to collect water from a shallow well in her yard, often causing her six children to contract waterborne illnesses. No matter how hard she worked as a housekeeper, she could not provide for her family’s basic need for safe water. Then, Water Mission installed a safe water treatment system in her community.

Hortencia considers the new safe water source close to home a prayer answered by God! For her family, safe water means less sickness, more financial stability, and more time to spend together.

She attends safe water meetings and volunteers as a way to express her gratitude. “I am trying to do all I can to help Water Mission because it is good what they are doing,” explains Hortencia. “Thank you for doing this because the water is so important. It is a great help to us.”

There are so many mothers who continue to fight a harder battle than we could ever imagine for every gallon of water they can get. Some walk for miles, carrying heavy jugs, and still the only water they have access to is dangerous to drink.

This Mother’s Day, join us in sharing safe water and the love of Jesus with more strong women like Hortencia.
